This issue’s car of the month goes to Paul Huddleston, with his 1991 Cadillac Sedan Deville. He bought it from the Falls Church auto tech department for only 800 dollars. He says, “For the price I paid, this car is great, it’s everything I wanted and more.”
He loves the classic aesthetic of the car and the smooth ride it gives him every time he goes somewhere. Despite the car being over 25 years old, the car is in surprisingly good shape, and parts like the dashboard and radio have been updated over the years. Paul also loves the big grill and the hood ornament especially.
For being as old as it is, the car hasn’t been driven very much. “I was surprised when I found out that it only had 50,000 miles, especially since it was made in 1991,” says Paul.
When asked about where he likes to drive the car, Paul says, “I mainly like going to the movies, my friends’ houses, and even just to school. Really I just love driving this car.” It’s good to see someone so enthusiastic about a task as simple as driving, a task that many people consider boring and monotonous.
Another thing Paul likes about his car is that it is on the smaller side. He likes how it can fit into some tighter parking spots, but that it is still large enough to fit four or even five people comfortably, like he has had to do on multiple occasions.
He likes how his car handles the longer drives as well. Paul plays baseball and last year the team took a trip to Myrtle Beach. Paul drove his car down there and says, “It handles the long drive really well, and I only had to fill up on gas once.”
Paul has made many memories in his car, but some of his favorites are the long road trips with his friends. He says, “Every road trip is memorable, but if I had to pick one in particular, it would be when I drove back from Myrtle Beach on my own. It was just me and my car for over seven hours.”
When asked if there was anything that he disliked about his car, Paul says, “There isn’t anything I dislike about this car, it gets good gas mileage, it drives smoothly, and it looks cool.” It looks like Paul has found a keeper.
