They also posted a good postseason run to end a strong year on the field. The Jags beat Stuart in the first round but lost to Marshall in the second round of the conference tournament. Last year can be used as a building block for the Jags as they prepare for new challenges in 2016.

The game was well-fought on both sides of the ball with an aggressive approach on offense and a conservative approach on defense. The Jags jumped out of the gate in the first quarter with a 6-0 run, which eventually surged to a 23-2 lead at the end of the quarter.

Winter Track is probably one of the toughest sports to participate in. If you’re on distance, each day you’re running many miles outdoors in freezing temperatures to build endurance to run for long distances. If you’re a sprinter, then you’re running intense workouts to build muscle for running quicker paces but for shorter distances.

It is a common misconception to think that volleyball is solely a girls sport. It certainly doesn’t help that boys volleyball isn’t offered as a high school sport anywhere in Fairfax County or anywhere else in Northern Virginia. However, if you are currently an aspiring boys’ volleyball player, now is your time to shine! This fall, a new club team was formed consisting of players from all over the county including Falls Church, Oakton, Lake Braddock, and Robinson.

Coming off of a very strong year last year, the Falls Church Wrestling Team looks to repeat their success. Last year the team had a final record of 12-3, including wins from the Norfolk Classic and the Rumble in the Jungle. The entire team made Regionals for the first time in school history, but losing a strong senior like Yery Vargas will make it a tough task to repeat. This offseason Coach Thinh, Coach Thong and the students have had “open mats” where wrestlers can come and get ready for this season.
